nthspace is currently working on an exciting new project with Pálmar Kristmundsson of PK Arkitektar on the remote Icelandic island of Grímsey. Remodelling two existing properties and building a new annex between them, nthspace Grímsey aims to create a space able to support a writer’s residency in harmony with the island's fewer than 60 inhabitants.

Grímsey lies approximately 40 kilometres north of the Icelandic mainland, intersected by the Arctic Circle. Invited writers and academics will be able to work in relative isolation while drawing inspiration from the dramatic landscapes, weather and birdlife, and uncomplicated lifestyle.
