While the materials she uses can be classed as traditional, Francesca Mollett’s oil paintings are anything but.  Her works carefully balance the specific and the abstract, reacting to space and context to render organic subjects in ways that dissolve their defining details into new yet familiar forms.  In doing so, they invite the viewer into spaces of suggestion, understanding and candid encounter.

Francesca was born in Bristol, UK.  She moved to London to study, first at the Royal Drawing School and Wimbledon College of Art, before receiving her MA in Painting from the Royal College of Art in 2020.

She has exhibited across Europe, North America, and East Asia—most extensively in London, where she continues to live and work, at galleries such as Sim Smith, The approach, and the Saatchi Gallery.  Her work is also held in permanent collections across the globe, including the Kunstmuseum Den Haag and Institute of Contemporary Art Miami.

Francesca is represented by Grimm Gallery and Micki Meng.
