Through oil painting and ceramic sculpture, Diane Chappalley explores transitional experiences of birth and death, love and loss, and trauma and resilience.  Inspired heavily by literature and the Swiss countryside where she grew up, her psychological landscapes hint at narratives that are never resolved.  They articulate both the personal and universal—primal emotions, relationships with nature, and our capacity for rebirth.

Diane lives and works in London.  She studied at the Bern University of the Arts before earning her BA at City & Guilds of London Art School and her MA at UCL Slade School of Fine Art, where she was included on the Dean’s List.

In 2018 she received the prestigious Alice Bailly Award and has since gone on to exhibit internationally.  Her work is included in several private and public collections around the world, including the HSBC Corporate Art Collection in London, Oxford University, X Museum in Beijing, and the CHUV Contemporary Art Collection in Lausanne.
